Environment Policy
1. Purpose
Life Australia Cleaning & Security Services is committed to protecting the environment, preventing pollution, and operating in a sustainable, responsible manner across all cleaning, security, and facility management operations. This policy outlines our environmental commitments and provides a framework for achieving continual improvement in environmental performance.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
  • All Life Australia employees
  • Security officers and patrol staff
  • Cleaning staff and supervisors
  • Contractors and subcontractors
  • All operational sites, client premises, and company facilities
3. Environmental Commitment
Life Australia’s top management shall establish, implement, and maintain an Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001:2015. We commit to:

a. Environmental Protection

  • Prevent pollution, chemical spills, contamination, and improper waste disposal.
  • Reduce emissions, energy use, and environmental impact from cleaning and security operations.
b. Compliance Obligations
  • Meet or exceed all applicable environmental legislation, regulations, codes of practices, and client requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 14001:2015, and relevant security-industry environmental expectations.
c. Sustainable Operations
  • Use environmentally sustainable cleaning products where feasible.
  • Reduce consumption of chemicals, water, fuel, and single-use-materials.
  • Promote recycling, water segregation, and responsible disposal.
d. Security-Specific Environmental Controls

Security operations shall minimise environmental impact by:

  • Reduce vehicle emissions through efficient patrol routing and fleet maintanence. • Preventing environmental harm during incident response (e.g., spills, hazardous materials, fire events).
  • Ensuring secure handling and disposal of confidential documents, electronic waste, and security equipment.
  • Managing lighting, alarms, and electrical systems responsibly during patrols and lock ups.
e. Engagement & Awareness
  • Engage employees, clients, and suppliers to foster shared environmental responsibility.
  • Communicate environmental expectations during inductions, toolbox talks, and site meetings.
f. Continual Improvement
  • Regularly review environmental practices, objectives, and targets.
  • Implement improvements based on audits, inspections, incidents, and new sustainable technologies.
4. Roles & Responsibilities
Management
  • Establish, maintain, and review the Environmental Management System.
  • Ensure adequate resources, training, and compliance monitoring.
  • Review environmental performance annually and update policies as required.
Supervisors (Cleaning & Security)
  • Ensure environmental procedures are followed at all sites.
  • Conduct inspections and report environmental issues promptly.
  • Support staff in implementing sustainable work practices.
Employees, Contractors & Subcontractors
  • Follow environmental procedures and safe work practices.
  • Report hazards, spills, or environmental incidents immediately.
  • Participate in environmental training and induction programs.
5. Environmental Objectives & Targets (2026–2027)

6. Communication & Documentation
Management shall ensure this policy is:
  • Available as documented information.
  • Communicated to all workers during induction and refresher training.
  • Provided to interested parties upon request.
  • Reviewed annually to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
7. Policy Availability
This policy is displayed at Life Australia offices, included in induction packs, and accessible to clients, employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
8. Declaration
All Life Australia employees, contractors, and subcontractors must read, understand, and adhere to this Environmental Policy and sign the declaration acknowledging their commitment.
